What survived the decade, and what did not
This page is the part of the archive that aged worst, and it is more instructive intact than tidied up.
Broadcast items were embedded, not written. The page shipped with a video player loaded from a network script and an audio player pointing at three local files in .ogg, .mp3 and .wav — the belt-and-braces trio a site had to ship in that era because no single format played everywhere. The script now loads nothing, and the three audio files are not in the snapshot: the page kept the player and lost the recording.
We have not replaced the missing audio with a substitute clip, and we have not written a transcript from memory to fill the gap. A heading with nothing behind it is worse than an absence, so the heading came out and this note went in.
What does survive is the list of filed items below — radio hits, wire pickups and one conference release, each with the link exactly as it was recorded. Those links are the durable part of a media file. The players never were.
